Boundary Volunteer Ambulance Service, Inc is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 organization.
Boundary Ambulance is the only pre-hospital EMS provider in Boundary County, ID and operates as a combination paid/volunteer system. Established in 1965, it is the oldest active ambulance in the state of Idaho. Currently, Boundary Ambulance provides 24/7 tiered ALS/Paramedic response, inter-facility transport coverage, TEMS, rescue/ropes/extrication, wilderness EMS response, event standby coverage and community paramedics.
Our Command Staff:
Chief/Paramedic Jeff Lindsey leads the team with over 20 years of full-time EMS experience. He comes most recently from Bonner County EMS (Sandpoint, ID) where he served as the Operations Captain for several years. Jeff previously has worked in both urban and rural systems in Missouri and South Carolina. His background includes serving as a Community Paramedic, Firefighter Paramedic and Tactical Paramedic. Jeff is married and he and his wife Amber reside near Sandpoint.
Captain/Paramedic Drew Rinella is the Operations Captain in charge of operational aspects of Boundary Ambulance as well as the supervisor of “Red Shift”. Drew brings 14 years of full-time EMS experience and comes to us most recently from Bonner County EMS (Sandpoint,ID) where he served several years as the Clinical Coordinator. Recently Drew has become a published EMS author. He also has worked in a busy system around Portland, OR and holds an Associates Degree in Paramedicine. Drew is married and currently resides with his wife and 2 children near Sandpoint.
Captain/Paramedic John Minden is the Clinical Captain in charge of all clinical related aspects including our QA/QI program, as well as the shift supervisor assigned “Blue Shift”. John has served at Boundary Ambulance for many years. John was the first person to attend paramedic school from Boundary Ambulance and after finishing school in 2014, he returned home to help bring Advanced Life Support to our county. John lives in Moyie Springs with his wife Becki and three children.
Captain/Paramedic Kelly Halleman is the Training Captain as well as Special Events Coordinator for Boundary Ambulance. Kelly is currently the shift supervisor assigned to “Green Shift”. Kelly comes to us from Nampa, Idaho where he served the past 15 years as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Nampa Fire Department. Previous to that, Kelly served as a Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Redmond Oregon Fire and Rescue Department. Kelly is an instructor through the American Heart Association in both basic and advanced level courses. Kelly resides in Boundary County with his wife Haley.
